ABOUT

James Rushworth is a Hull based composer and percussionist with an interest in collecting and recording different instruments from around the world and weaving these recordings into his electronic compositions. He has previously performed with close friends and fellow Hull musicians “Numb Mob” at Hull and London Jazz Festival and as part of the Hull 2017 Mind On The Run Festival and the 2019 PRS New Music Biennial. He has also begun work with Sam Mavor, collectively known as Ishiki. This group specialises in creating atmospheric piano-based compositions that blends an acoustic familiarity and the manipulation of Electronic Music.

2021 sees James Rushworth working with Hull Jazz Festival, creating an exciting project that uses projected video and improvised electronic music to tell the story of the 1932 Kinder Scout Mass Trespass. Trespass is expected to premiere in July 2022.
